— commit: decode artifact names of either width, not just sha3-256
hexToDigest required exactly digest_len*2 hex characters. zit init writes the sha3-256 policy, so that looked like the only case -- but import-git opens its destination under git's sha1, naming every check-in in 40 hex. So commit rejected the parent of every imported repository and reported it corrupt on a store zit verify called clean. Issue #24.
Length now comes from the name, as artifact §7.2 allows both widths. pack.zig carried the same copy and would have dropped the primary-parent hint the same way; cmd/sync.zig's callers move to the slice form.
commitParentCorrupt now names which step failed. Collapsing an undecodable name, an absent parent and real damage into one sentence is why verify and commit could disagree with no way to tell which was right.
Reproduced on 12 commits and 40 files -- not scale-dependent, and not submanifest-specific: it fires before the S-card branch, so flat imports failed identically. Regression test commits over an imported sha1 history; mutation-proved by restoring the width check. (user: dmestas, size: 66647) [annotate] [blame] [check-ins using]
//! Real-Git differential tests for `zit import-git`. //! //! This suite deliberately builds ordinary Git repositories rather than feeding a //! hand-written fast-export stream to the importer. Git is the oracle for tree //! shape, blob bytes, parent order, identities, commit messages, and refs; Zit //! is read back through its public storage and artifact APIs. The suite is an //! opt-in build step because it starts Git and the compiled Zit executable. const std = @import("std"); const builtin = @import("builtin"); const build_options = @import("build_options"); const zit = @import("zit"); const artifact = zit.artifact; const checkout = zit.checkout; const logstore = zit.logstore; const storage = zit.storage; const zit_exe: []const u8 = build_options.zit_exe; const Identity = struct { name: []const u8, email: []const u8, epoch: i64, offset_minutes: i16, }; const MapIdentity = struct { name: []const u8, email: []const u8, timestamp: i64, timezone_offset_minutes: i16, }; const MapEntry = struct { kind: []const u8, oid: ?[]const u8 = null, zit: ?[]const u8 = null, source: ?[]const u8 = null, canonical: ?[]const u8 = null, author: ?MapIdentity = null, committer: ?MapIdentity = null, warning: ?[]const u8 = null, target_zit: ?[]const u8 = null, }; const Checkin = struct { bytes: []u8, manifest: artifact.Manifest, fn deinit(self: *Checkin, gpa: std.mem.Allocator) void { self.manifest.deinit(); gpa.free(self.bytes); self.* = undefined; } }; const LoadedManifest = struct { hash: []u8, bytes: []u8, manifest: artifact.Manifest, fn deinit(self: *LoadedManifest, gpa: std.mem.Allocator) void { gpa.free(self.hash); self.manifest.deinit(); gpa.free(self.bytes); } }; fn rawArtifactHash(name: []const u8, buffer: *[32]u8) ?[]const u8 { if (name.len != 40 and name.len != 64) return null; const raw = buffer[0 .. name.len / 2]; _ = std.fmt.hexToBytes(raw, name) catch return null; return raw; } /// Keeps every resolver result alive until `flattenTree` completes.
