# Escalation Template
Use this record when the workflow cannot resolve a claim, capability, example, wording choice, or validation failure from available evidence. Keep one blocking question per escalation.
## Status legend
| Status | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `open` | Decision or evidence is still missing. |
| `answered` | A decision or source answer exists and is linked. |
| `deferred` | Accepted as out of scope for this packet. |
| `converted` | The work moved into a correction or scoped change. |
| `rejected` | Escalation was unnecessary or invalid. |
