# The private beta, as it stands
**Build `0.1.0-beta+37b806e84803`, 7 September 2026.** The footer of every page names the build you are on.
## What the forge is
quarry serves fossil repositories. A repository here is a fossil repository — you can clone it with fossil, and everything the forge records (tickets, forum threads, landings, technotes like this one) is an ordinary fossil artifact, readable by a stock fossil client. zit is the engine underneath; it is what makes the forge fast on repositories the size of sqlite and tcl.
## New since the invite build
- **Landings** stream while CI runs, and the page now follows the record: an accept, a rejection or a new remark reaches an open tab without a reload. "Land when green" is a visible armed state that fires on its own.
- **CI** takes a capability of its own, so a repository can be readable without its runs being public. The run page reads like a run — commit subject, log filter, expand, wrap, raw.
- **Roles and visibility** are set in plain language now. You pick Reader, Developer, Maintainer or Admin and choose what the repository is visible to; the capability letters underneath are still there for anyone who wants them.
- **Two accounts at once.** Sign in as a second account and switch between them from the account menu.
- **Tickets** edit their title and description in place, where you read them.
- **Search and first visit** explain themselves instead of showing an empty page.
- **Speed.** A landing page renders in tens of milliseconds where it used to take seconds.
## Mirrors
Eighteen projects are mirrored and kept current, so there is real history to search from day one: fossil, libfossil, sqlite, libspatialite, lumosql, tcl, tk, tcllib, tklib, wapp, althttpd, pikchr, sqlar, docsrc, freexl, readosm, spatialite-tools and zit. They are read-only copies, refreshed on a schedule.
## Known gaps
- **Email is invite-only.** Invites send; nothing else does.
- No pull-request-style review across forks yet — landings assume a branch in the same repository.
## Reporting a problem
The bug icon in the header opens a ticket on the forge's own tracker, filled in with the build and the page you were on. That is the fastest route; it lands where the work happens.
