fix: tolerate NULL event.user/comment in manifest.Log (#47)
Fossil's check-in manifests require only the D and Z cards; the U-card (user) and C-card (comment) are optional, and canonical fossil binds a missing U-card as SQL NULL on the event row. manifest.Log scanned both columns into plain strings, so any repository containing such a check-in failed the entire walk with "converting NULL to string is unsupported" and returned zero rows. Scan event.user and event.comment through sql.NullString and use its zero-value String field, so a NULL column becomes "" without changing LogEntry's public shape - no nullable type leaks out, and no caller has to know NULL was ever possible. Non-NULL columns are unaffected. repo timeline now renders an empty user as "?", matching canonical fossil's coalesce(euser,user,'?') Initial open source release
libfossil is a pure-Go implementation of the Fossil SCM, reading and writing the same .fossil SQLite repository format as upstream Fossil. This is the first public release of code that previously lived in a private repository. The module path is github.com/danmestas/libfossil and the binary is named libfossil to avoid $PATH collisions with upstream fossil. Included: - Repo lifecycle (create, clone), checkout/checkin, timeline, merge, diff, annotate, shun, tag, branch, bisect, stash, undo/redo - Sync-over-HTTP protocol (client and handler) - Two SQLite drivers: modernc (pure Go, default) and ncruces (wasm-capable) - Observer interfaces (SyncObserver, CheckoutObserver) with an optional OpenTelemetry implementation in observer/otel (separate submodule) - Deterministic simulation testing harness with BUGGIFY fault injection - Kong-based embeddable CLI under cli/ and a standalone binary under cmd/libfossil/ check-in: f5744359d3 user: [email protected] tags: trunk | |
